Today at Little Angels we are busy preparing for our Pre-school leavers party to be held this afternoon. It is always a very emotional time of year when our children start to leave us to go to school. Todaywe are celebrating with a concert for parents and presentations to the children. Tissues needed !!
Based in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, Little Angels Day Nursery is dedicated to providing the finest quality childcare for children from birth to 5 years together.
Have you brushed your teeth this morning??? The preschool children thoroughly enjoyed a visit from our local dentist. They discussed the importance of healthy teeth and gums with the children. They also saw a programme about going to the dentists and were shown how to brush teeth properly using a giant model and toothbrushes. Each child got a magic toothbrush with toothpaste built in so they could practice their brushing skills later that day
Little Angels Day Nursery is a Healthy Tots setting.
We are very pleased to announce that we have been awarded healthy tots status from the county council’s Healthy Tots programme. It shows that we are meeting high standards in Healthy Eating, Physical Activity and Emotional Health and Well Being. Well done to everyone!
Also, huge congratulations to the nursery in raising over £900.00 for Comic Relief by hosting the “Little Red Balloon Race.” It was great fun and getting responses from people who found the balloons has been very exciting. One balloon had found its way to the Netherlands!
Little Angels Day Nursery will be holding their next Baby Massage Course commencing Friday 6th November at 10am and 2pm, and will run for 4 consecutive Fridays.
The course cost is £25.00 including a workbook, and is ran by a Qualified Infant Massage Teacher.
On Tuesday 13th October, Tim Murphy from Town and Country Vet in Market Harborough, popped along to see our Pre-School children, in connection with our role play corner, which this month has been turned into a vetinery surgery. Tim spent time discussing with the children the importance of taking pets and animals to the vets to make them better. Tim brought along with him two pet rats. The children throughly enjoyed touching and stroking them, and the rats didn’t seem to mind either!……….Many thanks to Tim for coming in and having a chat….
Little Angels Day Nursery recently held a Key Person Week. Parents were invited to come along and have an informal chat about their child and meet their child’s key person. Parents and staff both said they found the evening very informative and parents particulary enjoyed looking through their child’s Learning Journey, which includes written observations and photographs of their child.
Following the success of the Key Person week, the next one will be held in the Spring Term 2010
Many thanks to all the parents who attended and for taking the time to provide us with written and verbal feedback.
Staff and children all wore their jeans to nursery on Friday 2nd October 2009 to support ‘Jeans for Genes’ day and raised £30.00.
Well done and many thanks to everyone for taking part.
