The Toddler Room is for children from the age of approx. 12 months to approx. 2 years. There is a maximum of 12 children with a minimum 3:1 children to adult ratio. This is a large, bright, colourful and busy room with a separate sleep/quiet room. As children begin to gain confidence they begin to explore further and can participate in a wide range of educational and fun activities. Activities, which are planned in advance, include colouring, sticking, painting, outdoor play, singing and messy play.
When it's not being used for sleeping, the separate side room is used for small group activities. This gives three to four children a quieter opportunity to develop their concentration skills on a variety of activities, away from the busy distractions of the main group.
