Staff
Care at "Little Angels" is provided by experienced and qualified staff. At all times the OFSTED ratio of adults to children are well maintained. We recruit staff, not only on the basis of their qualifications, professionalism and experience, but also for their personal qualities. We look for enthusiasm, dedication, team working, maturity and a genuine love of children. We our proud of our exceptionally low staff turnover and many of our staff have over 10 years service with Little Angels.
In addition to the Proprietor we have a Nursery Manager and a Deputy Manager, an Office Administrator, together with full time and part time staff, including a part time cook. Each room has a Room Manager and senior members of staff who are permanent to that room. They are responsible for ensuring that planning is completed, good team work exists and the room runs smoothly and efficiently and the needs of the children are adhered to always. Our full time staff are usually allocated to one particular room to ensure familiarity and consistency for the children and parents. Part time staff where possible are allocated to a room although they may be 'floated' where the needs arise The nursery is committed to the ongoing training and development of staff and we are exceptionally proud to have achieved our "Investors in People" Award in 2001, reaccredited in November 2004 and September 2007.
We are committed to the development of our staff. The Proprietor, Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager and Senior Staff member have achieved their Early Years Professional Status. Six staff have achieved a Foundation Degree in Early Years & Childcare and three staff are studying for this currently. All staff receive regular training to enhance their professional development and are expected to study for a recognised childcare qualification. This commitment to staff training and development has no doubt contributed to our OUTSTANDING grading by Ofsted in 2011 and 2015
The leadership team supports all staff to engage with training, including degree level development. Staff comment that they feel highly valued and supported in their work with children.
